You can't narrow it down to a perfect team but here's some tips to build a good one
Make sure you have these four types of Pokemon on your team
WALL: there's a wall which has good defense (both special and regular) But if needed can also attack pretty good with moves that match its stats. Good Walls include Steelix Bastiodon and Bronzong
SWEEPER: This Pokemon has great attack or special attack (Possibly Both) with move types that match its stats. Have more of these than anything. These include Machamp Rampardos and Rhyperior
SUSTAINER- This is a Pokemon that has good HP and really nothing but. Make sure with these guys they also have some attack/special attack boosting moves because generally this type is bad with offense. These include Blissey and Drifblim.
SPEEDER- Always got to have a Pokemon with good speed so you don't attack last. To have a great combo use the quick claw and moves like extreme speed and quick attack so you'll be unbeatable.
And of course you may want your starter. I don't recomend this because their stats are not very good but They help alot with Empoleon being the stongest water type in the sinnoh dex can learn surf and water fall or Torterra can learn crunch and bite which can help against Fantina. But don't choose a Pokemon just because they look cool or they're hard to get. Sableye, a common dark type who isn't impressive at all has no weaknesses and pretty good stats to match!!!
But I've narrowed it down to the top six. No Legendaries or illegal Pokemon it's not impressive but it is a very sturdy team.

Steelix- DEFENSE WALL
Rampardos- ATTACK SWEEPER
Blissey- THE BEST SUSTAINER IN THE GAME
Magnezone- SPECIAL SWEEPER
Spiritomb- NO WEAKNESS WALL
This is the team I used for my platinum and I beat the elite four in under 30 minutes on the first try. Remember choose good stats and stuff but also have combos to match
