The Hunger Games is about 13 districts controlled by one Capitol, which year after year forces the districts to send one boy and one girl to fight to the death in their annual Huger Games, where their every move is watched and is televised live 24/7. The topic is mainly the troubles experienced by Katniss Everdeen, who has now gotten herself to be a competitor in the Games. She is caught between her "fake" love with the other competitor, and her dearly beloved Gale, who she has known for 7 years. Another topic thrust upon her is the entire Capitol's burning rage towards her death-defying decisions. To find out more please read The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.
District 13 made a bargain with the Capitol during the events of "The Hunger Games" series, specifically agreeing to help the Capitol maintain control over the other districts in exchange for their own survival and autonomy. This arrangement allowed District 13 to operate in secrecy and develop its own resources, but it also meant collaborating with the oppressive regime of the Capitol. Ultimately, the deal was a strategic move to preserve their existence while navigating the complexities of the ongoing conflict between districts.
