YES, if you travel back to the kanto- my friend got silver, and u can go back+fourth
plus after you beat the first or second gym leader you unlock the time capulse, transfers those types of Pokemon, and you can even trade backwards as long as they arent new Pokemon or have new moves

∙ 12y agoU cant trade but u can migrate u stick the red into the gameboy slot on ur ds and soul silver in the ds slot go to soul silver and on the main menu where it says play (ur name) connect to pokewalker etc. If u go down far enough there will be an option to "migrate from red" go to that and make sure the Pokemon u want from red are in the PC then select six Pokemon to migrate WARNING MIGRATED POKEMON CANNOT BE SENT BACK TO THE GAMEBOY GAME then after u migrate them go to ur actual soul silver game and then to the pal park walk around in the grass in the pal park and eventually u will find the migrated. Pokemon THIS WILL WORK FOR ANY POKEMON GAMEBOY GAME(that can fit in a ds) AND ANY POKEMON DS GAME

Just know that you can't migrate from Gameboy Color games. Or anything older than the GBA in general...
