If you have Gold, Silver, or Crystal, you have to defeat the Elite Four in Leaf Green or Fire Red, then go to One Island and transfer your Pokemon there. Then, insert the appropriate game pack (LG/FR) in your Nintendo DS and choose the migrate option (available once you defeat the Elite Four).

∙ 14y agoGameboy Color games do not work on Nintendo DS. They will slide out or not fit. But, Gameboy Advanced games will work on DS.
