Patients diagnosed with pancreatic cancer typically have a poor prognosis partly because the cancer usually causes no symptoms early on, leading to locally advanced or metastatic disease at time of diagnosis. Median survival from diagnosis is around 3 to 6 months; 5-year survival is less than 5%.[40] With 37,170 cases diagnosed in the United States in 2007, and 33,700 deaths, pancreatic cancer has one of the highest fatality rates of all cancers and is the fourth highest cancer killer in the United States among both men and women. Although it accounts for only 2.5% of new cases, pancreatic cancer is responsible for 6% of cancer deaths each year.[41]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pancreatic_cancer#PrognosisPatrick Swayze has died as of September 14, 2009...Patrick Swayze has in deed died today, Sept. 14, after a heroic battle against panceatic cancer. They did at first, since they had worked together on the movie called "Red Dawn (1984)" and they didn't get along while filming that. So when they met for "Dirty Dancing" old resentment came to the surfaces for both. However, instead of staying that way and because both wanted to be in that movie, it was important to them both, they went into a trailer on the set, to talk about everything (or fight it out), burying the hatchet so to speak. Apparently tears had been involved because they came out with red eyes.It was after that, as Patrick has said, "sparks" flew as they danced. It was the first time outside of the connection with his wife, as he has also said, that he felt an overwhelming connection with another woman.
The balrog attacked Gandalf and the party because it was an evil territorial creature who attacked any who ventured into its area. Gandalf attacked the balrog because he was the only one who could realistically fight the Balrog. As the balrog was massive, they could only run for so long before having to fight.

He passed away from it in 2009. Though he did live about 4 to 5 years longer than expected. He put up a good fight with the cancer. May he rest in peace and always be in our hearts and minds.
