No- a sequel to "Trial By Fire" had been planned to explain Alex Cahill-Walker getting shot at the very end, but it was decided by CBS that no more TV movies were going to be made. That story was terrible anyway and should be left out of the series.

In the episode "The Final Show/down", Alex does not die. She brings home baby Angela Walker to a house full of welcoming guests. Not long ago, there was another movie brought out where she is shot in the courthouse in the last few seconds of the movie, but the outcome has yet to be seen. Cliffhanger!

"WTR: Trial By Fire" is the last story made for that series. It does not even have Nia Peeples in it and Clarence Gilyard, Jr. was only in one scene. This movie was absolutely horrible and is not even worth watching. The series ended just fine with the last scene of the final episode.
