German born Albrecht Durer's etchings employed techniques that included hatching, cross-hatching and stipple. Hatching is the practice of creating patches of parallel lines. This can be done in flatly to produce tone (grey, darkness) or along the form to give the form the illusion of volume. Cross- hatching is the technique of making two sets of parallel lines so that they create an X-shaped grid. This technique seeks to achieve the same effects as does simple hatching. Stipple is the technique of creating patches of dots. The more densely the dots are clustered, the darker the patch appears.

Cross-hatching and stippling are techniques usually found in ink drawing and etching. Cross-hatching is the creating of two sets of hatch marks (slash-type marks/lines, either parallel or curving along the form) so that they make an X-pattern or grid. Stippling is the method of applying a field of dots. The denser the field, the darker the area appears. The eye "blends" these, more smoothly as it gets farther and farther away from the drawing. This is known as "optical blending." Good examples of this are old newpaper photographs or the paintings of George Seurat. Actual "blending" is usually to describe the smearing of malleable media, such as paint or pastels, so that transitions are made significantly smoother. It's achieved by rubbing or smudging two adjacent areas with a brush or finger.
Theo Cross's birth name is Theodore Cross.
Caravaggio used foreshortening to bring the figure to the front of the painting and project him into.
line drawing- use of straight lines hatching- use of parallel lines drawn close together to create a shading effect cross hatching- hatching at 90 degrees scribbling- random scribbles
Cross-hatching shows the different materials that are being used in the project. So different hatching techniques show say wood, metal, steel, etc.
It could be, if you used different colors in the sections you made
cross hatching, hatching, and pencil shading
i only know 2 hatching and stippling well i know cross hatching, scribble hatching, pointillism, planes, hatching, stippling, and blending or smudging. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Based on textbook information, the four techniques are Hatching, Crosshatching, Blending, and Stippling.

to make a particullar area of shading easier
If I understand your question, hatching is a drawing technique in which the hatching lines are used to delineate and highlight the "cut" "faces" of a cross section of a construction component. j3h.

It's a type of pencil drawing art. where you cross lines. hatching is like this: /// cross hatching would be were ou wwould do something like this: xxxx. butin various designs. google image it to see ideas
Well, it's not an easy thing to explain with the words for you to understand exactly what cross-hatching is. You can check out the blog of an artist who uses cross-hatching very often in his drawings http://igor-lukyanov.blogspot.com
