Did Heath Ledger die of depression?

Nobody knows. Some people think he did it to kill himself, some think he couldn't sleep and took to many sleeping pills, and some say that when he played the Joker, he actually became twisted and did himself in.

Movie stars aren't exactly happy people either. I think he just got depressed and did it in.

It is inevitable that people will speculate about the death of such a popular and talented young man. However, I think that especially with a man of Ledger's popularity and reputation, if there were convincing evidence that he committed suicide it would have been hyped up the kazoo by the media. Instead, we heard the simple evidence that seems to indicate he was taking several prescribed medicines (perhaps too many prescriptions) and he ended up mixing and matching the wrong ones. Of course no one knows for sure, but he was at the top of his game. I think it was as it has been reported: an accidental over-dose.

I am very sad I have to admit I may have caused heath ledgers suicide i met him and was so rude i think he went crazy, i just don't know why but i wont disclose the details of this other than i met him Thanksgiving night in denver he was at the same motel and knocked on my door probably he needed a friend and i was so worried thinking it wasnt him since im bad at remembering people's faces i seriously thought he may be a thief trying to lure me out so someone could rob my stuff, also he had no confidence he talked very quietly told me who he was etc. and then theres alot more to this i hope there is a heaven for people and I'm sure he just didn't handle the drugs well.

The last response was so intellegent that I really just had to comment on it. If you all remember there are several stunt shots in Dark Knight. Well if you actually read the press on the movie you would know Heath hurt his back during one of those shots. That accounts for the pain killers. Then if you take into consideration the walking pnemonia you have a explaination for the other pills. If you compound that with the problem of seeing 3 doctors in 2 different countries then you see the problem forming? There were no illegal drugs on the tox screen and until someone can prove without question that he had a drug problem and not just speculation getting high may not be the best answer to this question. I'm sure your family would love if someone gave this answer to the same question about you.
