In many interviews Johnny acknowledges that "he had done every drug there is by age 14." He goes on to say that soon realized it was getting him nowhere and stopped.

From an interview in 1988 Depp said he has tried just about every drug known to man, but alcohol was his main choice of poison. As he matured mentally he was able to see he was on a road to nowhere, and he turned himself around. Whether this decision came before or after the death of his friend River Phoenix, I don't know.

Johnny has done drugs.. any Depp fan would know this answer.. what type he does now is unknown IF he still does any.. I do believe he does smoke marijuana though
