Did Queen Elizabeth I deserve the title Gloriana?

Gloriana is the main character in Edmund Spenser's famous poem, The Fairie Queen. The queen in question was Elizabeth I, the Virgin Queen, so called because of her refusal to marry and share her power. While it provided certain diplomatic flexibility and maintained Britain's independence in not literally being wed to another political faction, it also resulted in some civil uncertainty in not producing a direct heir. Ruling for almost 45 years, she proved herself politically astute, intelligent, and powerful. As Gloriana, her name defines a golden age for British culture, whilst having a certain mystical air that suggests an earlier place of glory, in legend and myth.

If you mean the nickname 'The Virgin Queen' then i'd say that she did deserve it as she didn't marry and never had children.
