Did Severus Snape die trying to save Harry Potter?

Yes, Severus Snape died in Dethly Hallows. Voldemort realized that he wasn't the true owner of the Elder Wand because Snape killed its previous owner (Albus Percival Wulfrock Brian Dumbledore). Therefore, Voldemort had Nagini bite Snape on the neck, killing him.

Answer: I do not think he knew that Voldemort would kill him. I feel he was sure he could talk his way out of being killed.

Answer: He did know he was taking a great personal risk.

Answer: He didn't expect to live forever; but he still lived much longer than Regulus Black or Igor Karkaroff (two other Death-Eater who betrayed Voldemort), plus he had the comfort that every Marauder died before him.

Not directly. Lord Voldemort killed Severus Snape because he believed Snape was the owner of the Elder wand and killing him would allow Voldemort to own it.

However, Snape was always trying to protect Harry and probably wouldn't have been killed for those reasons if he hadn't been as Albus Dumbledore wouldn't have asked Snape to kill him.
