Neopets came out in 1999, whereas Webkinz came out in 2005. So for a while there, Neopets had nothing to be jealous of. Now that Webkinz wants to borrow the idea of an online pet gaming world, I don't see why Neopets would be jealous - imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

I don't think so. I think it is just a rumor someone sent around so neopets would seem like a bad website. I will admit that they fight over members from time to time, but neopets wouldn't dare do that to webkinz.

Actually you got it mixed up. It's the Webkinz killing Neopets rumor i don't know who actually started it but I do know what its about Neopets used to be very popular and then Webkinz came along and people left Neopets and let them die then to go on Webkinz. I heard that somebody that worked at Ganz had a son that said, "Neopets sucked" and told people to tell and the rumor started. It got so big that people started saying "Webkinz were killing Neopets." Some thought Neopets were killing Webkinz which is why there are no more Webkinz.
