No and they couldn't for a few reasons. One being that Severus Snape is dead, the other being that Harry was a constant reminder to Snape that Lily Evans loved James and not him. However after finding out the truth Harry respected Snape and thus gave one of his children the name Albus Severus. He told Albus that Snape was one of the bravest man Harry had ever known.
