The exact nature of Mickey and Minnie's relationship varies from cartoon to cartoon, but generally she's either his "girlfriend" or "a girl who happens to be his friend" rather than his wife. Mickey and Minnie don't themselves have kids, though in some cases they "play characters" who are married and have kids, such as in Mickey's Christmas Carol where Mickey is in the "Bob Cratchit" role and Minnie plays Mrs. Cratchit.

There are sometimes kid mice around; these are generally explained as being either Mickey or Minnie's "nephews" or "nieces" rather than their kids. In particular, the comics sometimes give Mickey a pair of nephews named Morty and Ferdie, who are the sons of Mickey's younger sister Amelia (sometimes known as Felicity... it's complicated). Likewise, Minnie has at least one niece usually named "Melody" or something close to it; Melody sometimes (it's inconsistent) has a twin named "Millie" or "Molly".

Only when she stars on screen, for instance her role in Mickey's Christmas Carol, does she have kids.

In a 1933 interview, Walt Disney said in their offscreen private lives, Mickey & Minnie are married but have no children. On occasion, onscreen they are seen as just dating.
