Is "hatred" and "intense dislike" really the only options? Different people have different views and opinions about Scrappy. Many people don't like the character because they think he is annoying. I will admit, he did get a little annoying sometimes. He would often go on and on to try to get Shaggy and Scooby to go with him to get the monster, sometimes even forcing them to, by carrying them or something similar. Scrappy seemed to not realize that they didn't want to, never had wanted to, and never would want to go after the monster, even though it was obvious to everyone else. Scrappy would always look up to his "Uncle Scooby" as a role model, thinking that Scooby was fearless and always wanting to go after the monsters or "ghosties", which couldn't have been farther from the truth. But there were times when Scrappy seemed nicer and sweeter. When taken out of the ghost or mystery setting such as in the movies "Boo Brothers", "Ghoul School", and "Reluctant Werewolf", Scrappy wasn't as bad. I don't think Scrappy ever meant to be annoying, I think he just has a "go at it" type of personality and way of thinking. He did become mean and bad though, after the gang ditched him, shown in "Scooby-Doo" (2002, live-action). He got corrupted basically to a point where he wanted to take over the world. Maybe Scrappy realized that his Uncle Scooby wasn't the bravest dog (which is what he looked up to) and that also contributed to his hatred for the gang and becoming bad. Despite Scrappy's annoyingness and turn of evil, I don't hate or intensly dislike him. I don't have a problem with Scrappy at all the majority of the time. I don't know what most other people think about him, but this is what I think.
