Bruce Lee is universally recognized as the king of Martial Arts movies after making only one Hollywood film. his ideas and philosophies on fighting and physical fitness revolutionized the martial arts community. he founded a school of martial know as jeet kune do and brought martial arts into mainstream America. he is a symbol of racial equality. i could go on forever but the bottom line is Bruce lee was a man who changed the world and whose great legacy was cut tragically short.

You better rephraze it dude and, I doubt a 64 year old Chinese man would play Video Games with me! Good thing he isn't alive though; he'd be pissed if he saw that Danny Innosanto was learning BJJ and held a black belt in it. Why?

Lee taught that his Jeet Kune Do was a way of thinking, not a style. He ultimately copped out saying, everyone ultimately picks a style that suits them, thus it becomes a problem of a person's willingness to adapt at the proverbial moment of truth, not the style because there is no such thing as a style with the perfect answer. That may be but I disagree; I think a "perfect style" can be created, but not by a single individual. It would require a think tank of experienced masters and experts, and scientists, the likes of which, has never been seen. I believe "the one style" can be created. One style, to rule them all. Sorry for borrowing LOTR rhetoric but, I think its appropriate.

The closest thing to such a style, is probably Wing Chung; its basically Shaolin Kung Fu for dummies. But hey, it works; its a favorite of cops throughout China. Also, fastest hands in martial arts. No style, except perhaps Tai Chi Chuan, has hands that are faster. Yes, high level Tai Chi experts, all have fast hands; one of the many "magic tricks" of chi energy, is that it can enhance hand speed to terrifying levels. Levels like, for example, the ones displayed by Bruce Lee. That hand speed you saw in Enter the Dragon, when he went up against the character O'hara, was not 100% Wing Chung you know, Bruce Lee, faithfully every morning, for 2 hours, he'd begging his day with Tai Chi Chuan.

I consider him to be somewhat of a liar and a hypocrite because even though he basically spent his life criticising Chinese tradition, he became a lightning fast, panther-like martial artist, PRECISELY BECAUSE, of Chinese tradition. So, he comes up with that "doing forms to learn how to fight, is like learning to swim on dry land" bullcrap, even though he himself did the Wu style of Tai Chi Chuan, which is a FORM, every morning, for 2 hours. Hypocrite. Filthy hypocrite; that is why I take a lot of what he says with a grain of salt.

Oh and, as a counter to Lee's "dry land" rhetoric;

"perhaps, but if a swimmer is not relaxed and focused, he will drown."

Forms, teach relaxation and focus, so, f**** you Bruce Lee!
