No, those are not subliminal messages. Those are mere coincidence and pareidolia. Yes, Pokemon has subliminal marketing in their show and games.

Here are some examples:

The Pokerap quickly flashes by with "gotta catch 'em all".

The Pokerap insists that children return to watch the show to complete the rap.

The anime offers story plots and answers to puzzles related to the video game.

Ash, the main protagonist has an overstated desire to become a Pokemon Master. What exactly is a Pokemon Master is never explicitly stated.

Ash's last name is Ketchum, another reference to the slogan "gotta catch 'em all".

Basically, the idea was to entice kids to watch the show, generate ad revenue, motivate them to buy the toys/cards/games, and spread the series to their friends.

Is it necessarily bad? No. Pokemon only accomplishes the goal that all marketing strategists/advertisers aim to accomplish. All ads want to get you, the consumer, to invest in said product or service, whether it be time or money. Pokemon accomplishes both. Children do not recognize it because they are too young and naive. The older audiences do not care because it is a franchise they enjoy and would gladly support. The games are fun and bring friends together. The cards are flashy collectors items to show off. The cartoon repeats the same plot that all successful stories such as Harry Potter and LOTR follow. A story about a relatable character that enters into an unknown world that sparks both curiosity and imagination.

I'm not really sure if the movies have subliminal messages, but people say that the songs have them. Like the Pokerap saying 'I love Satan! I love Satan!' Oh, and same with the original Pokemon theme song. There was also an episode where James says 'Leo Burnett and 4Kids are the devil! Leo Burnett!' while he was in his Pokemon if you play it backwards. So it's pretty weird... but most of the time, it really doesn't mean anything because in songs you find that sort of thing all the time.

Hells yeah! The entire dialogue of the game revolves around acceptance. Everyone has their own opinion, and that's okay. Everyone has their own way of thinking about things, their own way of making choices and of living life, but no matter WHAT they choose, even if it's different from what YOU choose, that's okay.

The bad guys, Team Plasma, are all bent out of shape over animal cruelty (pokemon battles) and essentially play the role of PETA. They try to steal pokémon from other trainers, and your job is to stop them, but only because stealing is a crime. Not because they're wacko or anything. You have to respect their opinion.
