Yes, Fred does die. He gets blown up in a magical explosion while fighting with his brother Percy. The explosion was caused by Bellatrix Lestrange. I would of preferred Percy to die because George isn't funny without Fred and Percy was really mean to everyone in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix!
