Not sure, but his hairline in Planes, Trains, and Automobiles doesn't look quite natural in some of the close-ups. If it is a hairpiece, it's a good one. It's difficult to tell when the hair color is gray or white.
Certainly looks like it. It resembles a piece that fills out the bangs and front top of his head. Very obvious.
