Chan-di-gar OR shan-di-gar
Actually, no he's not. He learned some Kung Fu skills in the "Peking Opera Schools", where he had Yu Jim-Yuen as a teacher. In such Operas the students didn't learn Kung Fu from masters. They learned more to impressionate Kung Fu on stage or in a film. It is comparable with someone who learns dramatic arts school fencing. This kind of fencing looks real, but is supposed to look just spectacular, but most movements would be useless in a real fight. You can see that clearly in a Jackie Chan film, when Jackie never uses deadly attacks that would work in real life and all the fights are much longer than they would last in reality. In Hung Gar Kung Fu for example, you learn how to push in the larynge of your opponent to kill him. Jackies movies look spectacular, but aren't realistic and Jackie never learned real Kung Fu or Wushu from a Kung Fu master, so he could never reach master grade in both of them.
