He takes control of the body for a moment, and in that moment, Percy makes his decision: "A single choice shall end his days." Percy's choice was to give Luke Annabeth's dagger, the cursed blade. Luke then killed himself, because he knew that if Kronos took control then the world would be destroyed.

∙ 13y agoPercy does not exactly destroy Kronos, but when they are fighting Annabeth gets Kronos' scythe stuck in the hilt of her knife. She tries to talk to Luke before Kronos goes into his true form and burns Luke's body. She says he promised that they would be friends and that he could do something about it. As Luke is involnerable, he has one volnerable spot under his arm. He takes Annabeth's knife and stabs himself. Kronos shatters into a million pieces and will never be able to regain consciousness. So really Luke defeats Kronos and the prophecy comes true.

∙ 14y agoNo, Kronos is a titan, so he's immortal and technically can't die. But Percy did make the decision to give Luke the knife and Luke killed himself ('cause Kronos was possessing him) so that Kronos disappeared and will (hopefully) never regain consciousness again

∙ 12y agonever seen the movie... but i bet so but in the book luke defeats kronos because since kronos is part of luke's body than luke betrays kronos and stabs himself and kronos gets blasted into pieces and will never be able to make a form again.

∙ 14y agoNot exactly. Kronos is inside Luke's body. And Luke becomes himself just long enough to stab his "Achilles heel" and therefore causing himself to die, and Kronos to disappear to Tartarus again.
