Luke then killed himself, because he knew that if Kronos took control then the world would be destroyed.

It turns out Silena Bueregaurd has been spying for Kronos. In the end, Kronos is defeated and Olympus is saved. Grover is no longer in exile and Silena and many others die defending Olympus.
