In one of the last episodes of Fullmetal, Rose and Ed are dancing in a huge theatre in the city that was used for one of the philosopher's stones. Rose tells Ed that she loves him and Ed steps back confused saying something like "But Rose, we're just friends..."

no, al never betrayed ed,but al was mad at ed for a while because he thought his soul was fake, but that got fixed up quite fast, then they never really had doubts.
