Peter Parker does love both women. Later in the comic books Gwen stacy dies. Peter Parker goes into a long depression and because Mary Jane and Gwen Stacy were best friends, she consoles Peter about Gwen. They later grow to like each other but there are many hurdles they go over to get to their love climax such as Mary Jane's hot temper and Peter always having to leave because he had to fulfill his duties Spider-Man. Gwen Stacy is Peter Parker's first true love. When they met they had a bond instantly. Unlike Peter and Mary Janes relationship the really did not have a bind like that. In my opinion spider-man loved Gwen more and after he does he just used Mary Jane as a replace ment.
