Pot of GreedSPELL/NormalDraw two cards from your Deck.As of the March 2010 Forbidden/Limited Card List, Pot of Greed is currently banned from all official Duels and tournaments.
Drawing 2 cards for nothing without a cost.
Pot of Greed is forbidden in Advanced format and restricted to one in Traditional format.
Pot of Greed provided easy access to "Hand Advantage". It was seen as "broken" as with the cost of one card (that being Pot of Greed itself) it could turn into two more cards providing an advantage to your opponent. To date, Hand and Field Advantage is critical to the top (Tier 1) tournament Decks.
Probably the Seal of Orichalcos ;) Scratch that, Field cards aren't too good nowadays... As for real cards, Pot of Greed is probably the best. Or raigeki, but it's easy to negate.

To date, Hand and Field Advantage is critical to the top (Tier 1) tournament Decks. For example, Jar of Greed allows you to draw one card from your Deck. However, it is not considered "broken" because the cost of drawing the card is Jar of Greed itself, resulting in the same amount of cards that you started with before you Set Jar of Greed. This is coupled with the fact that it is a Trap Card; therefore, it must be Set on the field before it is activated.

Card of Demise is currently anime-only. It is not available as a real card, not even in the Japanese card sets, and due to its highly unbalancing effect (in a format where Pot of Greed is banned) it is doubtful it ever will be released.
The Yu-Gi-Oh game is mainly about strategy. To have a good strategy you need to know the card's ability and how well it works with other cards. For example, the monster card, Avatar of The Pot and the spell card, Pot of Greed, work well together. Avatar of The Pot: Send 1 "Pot of Greed" from your hand to the graveyard to draw 3 cards from your Deck. Pot of Greed: Draw two cards from your Deck. By using these two cards you have an advantage of drawing a card that can help win you the game. Another card that may help you in a duel would be Skilled Dark Magician, if you have a Dark Magician in your deck. Skilled Dark Magician: Each time you or your opponent activates 1 Sell Card, put 1 Spell Counter on this card (max. 3). By Tributing this card with 3 Spell Counters on it, Special Summon 1 "Dark Magician" from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard. Now with a Dark Magician on your side of the field you may have the advantage of winning the duel.
