well basicly just find Pokemon you like and train them, but also learn what there weaknesses are and what there strong agenst so they can go agenst any Pokemon, but if your going to do what i do and that is to lvl up my starter Pokemon all the way i would sugest you plan out every singke move your going to put into that Pokemon

and also get dimond and peril pladiuman COS YOU CAN GET DIALGA OR A LEVLE HIGHER THAN LEV.X so high it has no number AND LIFE 10000 AND ITS GOLDEN or do baisicle what the other dude said plan it out choise the Pokemon 1st in your deck play your 1st 5 cards level them up in time and renember your apounets attack and yours cos u never now what could happen like my dad has water types so on my deck i put them in a suprize order cos my eletrick Pokemon are MAGNMIGHT AND PIKACHOO and he has a thew magnmights so i mack shure i have a fire and water and an eltrick some times grass and dialga at all times like piplup pikachoo charmandor dialga and emm tertwig HOPE YOU DO GREAT ON YOU NEXST BATTLE
P.S you might wanna download pokenet were your on your journey you cloud learn more about you Pokemon and how to use them but if you have metapod you have to do all your hardnings like 25 times then you click hardon and you can attack but be cearful on what Pokemon u reles i realist a lev 14 mareep and lev 13 vulpix and lev 4 bug thin and my 1st Pokemon i got was piplup hes lev 22 or 21 and hes prinplup and i learnd more about water bug and grass and manley piplups or pipis
