How can you get to Lugia in Pokemon Crystal?

To even be able to come across lugia, you will need a silver wing. (A Silver wing is obtained once you defeat team rocket in goldenrod city.) Once you have the silver wing head to the whirl islands(you will need hm06 whirlpool (given to you by lance after beating team rocket in Goldenrod City). Look on your map to see where whirl islands are, unfortunately the path to lugia is quite long once your in the whirl island caves. But my advice would be to look up the maps on a Pokemon helper/guide/info website.

I recommend not using your masterball on this Pokemon, just save beforehand so it wont matter if you kill it, or it kills you. (Save your masterball for the legendaries that apear in the grass).

You must first go to Whirl Islands, Their is 4 islands. Your Pokemon MUST know whirlpool and you cannot get Lugia without the Silver Wing*, Tidal Bell and all 8 of your Johto Badges. After going through 4 caves with no luck, I discovered Lugia is in the *UPPER RIGHT* cave. good luck, and use ultra balls! (:

A man will give you the silver wing in pewter city in kanto. Then make your way through the whirl islands right by cianwood city. surf east and go through the Whirlpool. There are four caves so don't get confused. I would get a walkthrough. Then the man lets you go. the first cave is nothing. well it has a rare candy in it. if you keep going down you will find a second cave with a level 70 lugia inside.

there's some monk in one of the whirl islands as you get to the bottom he will tell lugia is down there and ask to prove something to him (it varies what he asks on each game) you also need a water Pokemon ans surf and whirlpool have to be taught to that Pokemon

To get Lugia, you need to defeat Team Rocket in Goldenrod city, after you defeat Archer (Team Rocket executive) the director will give you the silver wing, you then need to go to blackthorn city and defeat Claire the 8th gym leader, then you need to go to dragons den (you need whirlpool) and answer the elders questions.

you then go to new bark town where professor elm will give you a masterball and tell you to meet the kimono girls at ecuteak dance theater, when there you meet all five of the kimono girls the main girl gives you a tidal bell, you then have to defeat them all, each one has only one Pokemon its the umbreon, espion, flareon, jolteon and vapoureon (in that order) so it would be smart to heal your Pokemon before you start, after you defeat them a little girl come in and claims a shadows been spotted near Whirl Islands, so they all leave and tell you to meet them there.

go to and surf to the north-eastern island use whirlpool and go into the cave you may want to use flash when you get in follow it right and when you get to the fork in the path go for the upper path and use the ladders, then you go south until you see more ladders, use them.

a man will be stood in the bottom left corner of this room blocking your path talk to him and he will let you through go down the slopes until you reach the bottom and enter the cave the Kimono girls will be there they receive the tidal bell off you and it goes on the pedestal in the middle of the room the girls will do a dance and Lugia will appear surf to the middle of the water and press 'A', it will be level 45 use the pokeball and you have just caught a Lugia.
