Why does azula bend blue fire?

because she is princess of the fire nation and she was gifted with blue fire

Azula was considered a prodigy with Firebending, and she trained and trained to make her father proud of her, and sort of pity Zuko. Her fire is blue possibly because the show creators wanted her to seem more powerful.

I believe it's because her firebending is hotter and more powerful than other firebenders' (if you see her firebending in the deserted town in "The Chase", you'll see that once her fire hits a building, it turns orange because it isn't as hot anymore, compared to when she is bending it). Hope this helps :)..... also i believe it is blue because in spanish "azul" means blue, and her name is "azula". do you see the connection?

Azula advances in her firebending, strategy and combat so well that her fire turns blue therefore increasing her overall firebending power and its intensity.

I believe it is, because Azula is a representation of the blue dragon in that particular episode and Zuko is a representation of the Red Dragon in the show. Other wise I have no idea.
