How come my Magikarp isn't evolving when it just was just in the Daycare and it reached Level 20?

When Pokémon are in the Daycare, you lose the ability to control what attacks it learns plus you also lose the ability of it evolving if it reaches their evolution level because Pokémon in the Daycare are incapable of evolving.
