she had drunk alcohol, which was forbidden if you want to keep magic. he offered her a cleansing potion, which would purge out all her alcohol and enable her to use magic again. after she drank it, he told her that it also had poison in it that he would not give her the antidote for unless she let him look through her book.

∙ 15y agoHe remembered something about fairies when he was ten; this was actually mentioned in the 6th book, The Time Paradox, after ten year old Artemis was sent back to his time period after a mind wipe. Apparently the mind wipe didn't completely work. He woke up in his bed and remembered one word: fairies.
