There was a prophecy made shortly before Harry's birth saying "the one who has the power to defeat the dark lord approaches, as the seventh month dies" This could mean two possible people, Harry Potter or Neville Longbottom but Voldemort never heard the other part of the prophecy which stated that the dark lord would make him as his equal. Voldemort picked Harry and as soon as Dumbledore found out he hid the Potter who were of course betrayed. Voldemort killed his parents and and then proceeded to try and kill him using Avada Kevada on him but because Voldemort had given his mother the choice wither or not to live or die (because Snape had asked him to spare Lily) when she refused to step aside she died for her son because she loved him meaning evoking old magic which meant nothing as evil as Voldemort could hurt him so the spell backfired leaving Harry with a scar and a piece of Voldemort's soul inside him. Which connected him to Voldemort

No, he has a scar in the shape of a lighting bolt.
