After that he found it difficult to find matches and wound up travelling to America to fight. He passed away at the age of 36 from tuberculosis (1809-1845). No offense, but where in the world did you hear that? Anways, he was never deaf, but he did make an invetion for deaf people and worked at a home for the deaf.
