Ghetsis is the true leader of Team Plasma, he was using his son N as just a part in his plan to make everyone release there Pokemon. N was appointed the leader at a young age, even crowned in a ceremony. Ghetsis only showed N Pokemon that had been hurt and mistreated, and that's how he manipulated him as the leader.
