Don't ask about how William Shakespeare felt about anything. He did not leave any diaries and there are very few personal reminiscences about him. His writing was not the kind in which the author bares his heart, not even his sonnets, which may look like they are expressions of feeling but actually it is impossible to tell what connection if any they have with Shakespeare's personal life. So, there is no evidence on which we can base any opinion about what Shakespeare felt about anything. Don't ask.
