There were no losses of life on the Queen Mary itself, however a collision with one of its escorts during World War II did result in the deaths of many who were aboard the escort. The collision occurred on October 2, 1942 off the coast of Ireland. The escort ship HMS Curacoa and the Queen Mary were both performing evasive maneuvers when the Queen Mary struck the Curacoa midship at 28 knots, slicing her in half. The Curacoa sank almost immediately, resulting in the loss of 239 lives.

The Ship RMS ( Royal Mail Steamer) Queen Mary, was as a passenger liner, never involved in a fatal accident. People may have died of natural causes, as the lengthy ocean voyages paced things out- as people die of natural causes in Hotels and this is not considered an accident, fire, mishap, etc. Obviously passengers probably did die from natural causes- but the Queen Mary- as a civil Ocean Liner- was never involved in any Fatal accidents.

The worst Queen was known as "Bloody Mary". She killed hundreds of people. That's where the term "bloody Mary" comes from. Queen Mary was her name.
