How do Percy Jackson and his stepfather get along?

Percy Jackson and his first stepfather Gabe do not get along very well. They are constantly at odds, as Gabe drinks, gambles, and hits Percy's mother. Percy does not like Gabe for how he treats his mother, Sally.

However, Percy Jackson and his second stepfather Paul get along fine, as Paul treats Sally with great respect and love, and Paul treats Percy as if he is his own son.
They argue between one another. To make a long story short, they DO NOT get along.
