yes you do have to answer it. usually it will have a box where you can check yes or no or you could circle it. if they give you lines then all you have to put is yes or no unless it says otherwise. Normally applications only ask about convictions, not arrests. That's because you're considered innocent until you're proven guilty in the US.Many applications will only ask about felony convictions. If you've never been arrested/convicted, answer no. If you have been convicted, either leave the question blank or write in "will discuss." It's you're best bet.
