In J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Hobbit," the dwarves realize they are nearing the end of their journey as they approach the Lonely Mountain, guided by the map and the hidden clues it contains. The presence of the mountain itself, along with the signs of their destination, such as the proximity to the desolate landscape of the surrounding area, reinforces their understanding. Additionally, the growing tension and anticipation among the group signal that they are close to reclaiming their homeland and confronting Smaug, the dragon.
he will end at the tower
As the party approached the end of their journey, a mix of exhaustion and exhilaration filled the air, each member keenly aware that their long quest was nearing its climax. Tension crackled among them, as anticipation mingled with fear; they could sense the dragon's presence drawing closer. Signs of its power were evident in the scorched earth and the ominous shadows that danced in the flickering light. The thrill of impending confrontation sparked a renewed determination within the group, pushing them onward despite the looming danger.
The dwarves barged into Bag End as if they were invited (they WERE invited, but NOT by Bilbo); they were loud and drank and ate Bilbo's provisions at will and were rather messy. When Bilbo woke up next morning the sink was full, the kitchen was a mess, and to top it off, the Dwarves wrote a note to Bilbo on his own stationery.
If you are referring to near the end of the book where Thorin rejects Bilbo, it is because of a dwarf's greediness for gold and treasure. Thorin had been searching for the Arkenstone of his father, Thrain, in the Lonely Mountain, and was upset that he could not find it. He was shocked when he found out that the very Hobbit that the dwarves had put all of their trust in had betrayed them and found the Arkenstone and did not tell him. Bottom line, dwarves are greedy. Hope this answer helped. :)
Because they argued over how to kill the dwarves and Bilbo. In the end they got turned to stone by the rising sun.

The land elevation towards the end of Coronado's journey through the American Southwest would have consisted of rolling hills and valleys as his expedition traveled eastward, nearing present-day Kansas. The terrain likely became more rugged as they approached the Rocky Mountains, which would have presented significant challenges for the group.

In J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Hobbit," the two dwarves whose names do not end in "y" are Thorin and Fili. All the other dwarves in the group, including Balin, Dwalin, and Kili, have names that end with the letter "y." Thorin is the leader of the company, while Fili is the younger brother of Kili.
