The easiest way to rush through the game (without trading from other games, note that this strategy is the best in my opinion, not everyone's) is to choose either Mudkip or Torchic at the beginning. Then catch three Zigzagoons and one Lotad in/around the starting areas, as well as Shroomish in Petalburg Woods. Focus on raising your starting Pokémon as well as Shroomish, and keep all four Zigzagoons in your party.
The reason you should keep the Zigzagoons in your party is because they have one of the best passive abilities in the game - Pickup. I'm sure most people know what it does, which is picks all sorts of items up off the ground every now and then. Pickup x3 is a force to be reckoned with, as items picked up by Zigzagoons are usually Nuggets, Ultra Balls, Super Potions, Full Heals and RARE CANDIES. Rare Candies are what you're aiming for, they speed the game up a hell of a lot. Having 4 Zigzagoons in your party from Petalburg City to Mauville City should yield you roughly 20 Rare Candies (this is an average I've compiled using this method a certain number of times) if you check and take their items regularly, with 3 is almost the same :)
If you picked Torchic as your starting Pokémon, you do the same, get 3 Zigzagoons, 1 Lotad, Shroomish later on carvanha etc...
Of course choosing the Torchic/Shroomish/Carvanha option leaves you one party spot down in the end, and including a HM Pokémon such as Tropius or Wailmer (note that Zigzagoon can be used as a minor HM Pokémon, able to learn Cut, Rock Smash, Surf, etc.), you will only be left with 2 Zigzagoons in your party, meaning less Rare Candy influx, which is a huge disadvantage to your overall party strength.
Tips and guidelines:
-Don't spend too much time being a perfectionist, if a trainer battle is there, take it, if not, move on.
-Don't bother with going out of your way for items, etc.
-Never train on wild Pokémon, it's a pure waste of time using this strategy. The entire point of this strategy is to gain levels while you're travelling.
-When using a Rare Candy(s) on your Pokémon, make sure that they're at the beginning of their current level, otherwise you lose experience.
With Swampert/Breloom, at the Elite Four, they should both be roughly level 61~64.
Suggested movesets:
Swampert: (Mystic Water/Nevermeltice/Focus Band)
Ice Beam
Surf
Earthquake
Take Down
Breloom: (Blackbelt)
Leech Seed
Mach Punch/Sky Uppercut (personal preference)
Mega Drain
Headbutt
With Blaziken/Breloom/Sharpedo, at the Elite Four, they should all be roughly level 55~58.
Suggested movesets:
Blaziken: (Charcoal/Sharp Beak/Silk Scarf)
Flamethrower
Brick Break/Sky Uppercut (only if you can be bothered focusing on raising Blaziken to 59)
Slash
Aerial Ace/Blaze Kick (personal preference)
Breloom: (Miracle Seed/King's Rock/Blackbelt)
Leech Seed
Sky Uppercut/Mach Punch (personal preference)
Mega Drain
Headbutt
Sharpedo: (Dark Sunglasses/Mystic Water/Nevermeltice)
Crunch
Ice Beam
Surf
Slash
If you're not sure on how to get a specific TM or held-item I mentioned, consult http:/bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Main_Page
Of course once you've done this, you can start working towards a real party for whatever you like. The Pokémon you used to beat the Elite Four are relatively weak because Rare Candies were used to promote their growth, and Rare Candies don't yield as high stat growth as training against wild Pokémon/trainers constantly.
You can beat the Elite Four in roughly 8~9 hours of played time if you know

Either you choose Mudkip or Torchic:
instead of capturing the Shroomish now just get 1 pokemon that can learn fly, later on whenever you can get 1 chinchou ( underwater routes 124/126 with preference in modest nature, since your attacks will be special and not physical, teach him thunder/rain dance / surf & other from hydro pump/ secret power/ toxic )
Teach to your blaziken moves like:
Flamethrower/ Blaze kick
SKy uppercut
Slash
Aerial Ace/ thunderpunch
( Nature: Adamant/Brave/Quirky)
Teach to your Swampert
Brick Break
Earthquake
Surf
Ice beam ( to cover it's only weakness ( grass) ]
( Nature: Impish/Quirky/Lonely)
I prefer the blaziken Lanturn & Flygon/metagross combo
It's great for the whole game ( except metagross that you can only have him after the elite4)
But since that in emerald we have the battle frontier
Blaziken with:
Flamethrower
Sky uppercut
Slash/ sunny day
Aerial Ace/ solar Beam / Earthquake
with a Lanturn with:
Thunder
Rain dance
Surf
Toxic
and a FLygon with:
Fly
Earthquake/flamethrower
Crunch
Dragon Claw/Iron Tail/ stell Wing
It's just an amazing combo to everysingle battle, and rarely my Blaziken faints, and when he does, there is that superb Lanturn, so FLygon is almost sleeping!
no but you beat the game you may migrate a mudkip from Pokemon emerald version /leafgreen/firered/Sapphire/and rubie.
Mudkip had its debut in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire.
Migrate it from your GBA game.
In Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, there is only one possible way for another trainer to have a Mudkip. In the beginning of the game, you have the option to choose one starter Pokemon. If you choose Torchic, your rival will choose Mudkip. Your rival will always take the Pokemon that is elementally superior to yours. You choose Treecko - They choose Torchic You choose Mudkip - They choose Treecko You choose Torchic - They choose Mudkip
The three starter Pokemon stick to the basic types that they offer at the beginning of every Pokemon game: Fire, Water, and Grass. Treeko-Tree gecko Pokemon: Grass. Mudkip: Mud fish Pokemon: Water, Ground Torchic: Fire chick Pokemon: Fire, Flying

Yes, Mudkip is a fictional fish in the Pokemon games. Mudkip is known as "Mud Fish", and first appeared in the game 'Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire'.
Mudkip is Pokemon number 258. He made his debut in the Game Boy game Pokemon Ruby in 2003. He is also featured in the Pokemon anime series and the Pokemon manga titled Pokemon Adventures.
Migrate it from your GBA game.
u have to beat the whole game + the missions after and then when manaphy comes back u can evolve
Mudkip is available as a starter pokemon in more than one games. They are Pokemon Ruby, Pokemon Sapphire, Pokemon Emerald, Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire.
Swampert is the evolvesion of mudkip which is one of the three pokemon you can pick to start out with in the beginning of the game therefore you cannot get him unless you pick mudkip at the beginning of the game
To get mudkips, you need to go out and buy a Pokemon sapphire, emerald, or ruby, then pick mudkip as your starter, then put your mudkip in a PC, (as well as 6 other Pokemon which you need) save and turn off your DS/gamebohy Now take out your DS and put your GBA game in one side, and your DS game in the other. Go to migrate Pokemon in the screen that pops up before you start playing, and pick mudkip. now go to the pal park, which you get for beating the game, and catch mudkip!
Mudkip is a starter Pokemon on Pokemon Emerald, Sapphire and Ruby. This means that it is the first Pokemon you get. You get starter Pokemon near the beginning of the game from Professor Birch. Other starter Pokemon are Torchick and Treecko.
