Farfetch'd is a typically rare Pokemon in the main series of games. In the original games of Pokemon Red and Blue you could only get a Farfetch'd from an ingame trade with an NPC. In later games it became catchable in the wild. In the most recent games you often needed the National Dex before it will appear as a swarm in the wild.
