1) Get the national pokedex (that means SEEING, not necessarily catching, all 210 Pokemon)
2) Go to Professor Rowan in Sandgem town which will trigger a cutscene in which Professor Oak enters the lab and gives you the national Pokedex
3) Go to the Pal Park at the end of Route 221
4) Go to Professor Oak's house in eterna city ( at bottom left of city )
5) Professor Oak will mention that the legendary birds have been spotted and they will appear on the map on your poketech ( bottom screen ) like mesprit. I ran between Sandgem Town and Route 219 until me and one of the Pokemon were both on route 219. Then I surfed and ran into it.
6) I would recommend getting an Action Replay after this so you can get 999 master balls to catch them and 999 rare candies to get them to lvl 100 and if you cant get that well then i don't know what to do..... just try to get them i guess ( lol )
Hydraxon said: To capture the legendary birds with no Action Replay is fairly simple. Just run into them and use a Quick Ball. That works most of the time. If not, bring in a Haunter, Gengar, Golbat or Crobat that knows the move named Mean Look (don't confuse with Scary Face, that only lowers the opponent's speed) and be prepared. Be sure to bring a ton of Ultra Balls (or Dusk Balls if you are catching at night, they work nearly twice as well as Ultra Balls when it's dark), and a level 100 Sceptile that knows False Swipe (others like Sneasel can be taught it with TM54). Use False Swipe as many times as possible (It wil always leave the opponent with at LEAST 1 hp. Then pound it with Ultra Balls. Bang. One down. Two to go.
You can also use a Wobbuffet. That's how I caught Cresselia. That's also an easy way. It has Spell Tag which makes sure that any wild Pokemon may not escape. If you are still struggling when they are at 1HP, it might be worth taking a really quick Pokemon (or at least one that's holding a Quick Claw) and using Thunder Wave to paralyse the legendary Pokemon. This doubles the chance of catching it. It will run off when it gets a chance but if you do manage to paralyse it, it will still be paralysed next time you see it. I used a Dragonite, but Pikachu, Luxray, Electabuzz etc. are all quite quick at high levels as well. After you get the national dex you go to pal park where prof oak should be. after you talk to him he goes to eterna city. he is in a house in the southern part of eterna city go talk to him and he tells you the birds are roaming. the birds will appear on your marking map you get from the poketch company.
If you are wondering who the legendary birds are, they are Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos. To get them, go to Route 219. Use Surf. Get to the island with the little boy and girl. Use a Max Repel. Then Surf to Route 221. Go into the red building. Talk to Professor Oak. He tells you he needs to go back to his home in Eterna City. Fly to Eterna City. Go to the entrance to Cycling Road. Go inside the house on the left. Talk to Professor Oak. He tells you about the legendary birds. Then they appear on the Marking Map app on the Poketch. Here are where they are:
The route north of Jublife City.
In the grass patch in Valley Windworks.
The route north of Sandgem Town.
After obtaining all 8 kanto badges:
-You get Zaptos in front of the power plant (some recommend that you use ultra balls, you get there by Surfing from cirulian city.
- zaptos is lv. 50 it knows charge, discharge, Agility and Ancient Power
-you get Articuno at Seafoam Islands (some recommend that you use dusk balls in the cave)
-Articuno is at lv. 50 it knows Ice beam, Agility, Ancient Power and Reflect
-you get Moltres from Mt. Silver (some recommend that you use dusk balls and get there from the Johto league)
-Moltres is at lv. 50 it knows flamethrower, Agility, Safegaurd and Ancient Power.
You can catch them as soon as you are able to go where they are. You need Surf to get to the Powerplant on the bottom of the river east of the entrance to the rock tunnel. You need Surf to get to Articuno on the Sea Foam Islands. They are placed between Cinnebar Island and Fushia City. Moltres is at Island 1, at Mt. Ember. You will be able to go there after you've beaten Blaine. To catch Moltres your going to need Surf and Strength and Rock Smash.
moltres-- island 1, mt. ember articuno-- seafoam island zapdos--power plant
Because their supposed to do that. I watched Pokemon Platinum Walkthrogh by Super Skarmary. That's how to do it. Abbie and Jirachi.

Yes - you can catch the 3 Kanto Legendary Birds (Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres) in Pokémon XD.
yes. you need the national pokedex from Prof. Oak. Then you go to his house in Eterna City (it was empty before) and talk to him. by then, the legendary birds are roaming sinnoh like mespirit, and you can see them on the poketch app, marking map
Yes you can catch the three Legendary birds in Platinum but you'll have to beat the game first and to minor side activites before hand
