There is a glitch in Pokémon Emerald that allows you to duplicate any Pokémon and any item that can be held by a Pokémon. After being duplicated on Emerald, you can transfer these Master Balls to your FireRed game.
To duplicate items and/or Pokémon, here is what you must do. Follow these steps carefully, or you may unintentionally lose items, Pokémon or even your entire save data.
1. Gain access to the Battle Frontier. After defeating the Elite Four, Norman will give you a ferry ticket. Board the ferry at either Lilycove or Slateport and you will be able to visit the Battle Frontier.
2. Go to the Battle Tower and deposit up to five Pokémon that you wish to clone, or give any items you wish to duplicate to any Pokémon.
3. Save your game. Do NOT save your game again after this, or the glitch will not work!
4. Remove from the PC the five Pokémon you wish to clone as well as any item you wish to duplicate. Do NOT deposit any items or Pokémon at this step because they will be PERMANENTLY lost!
5. Talk to the NPC at the counter closest to you, the very last one in the row. Select CHALLENGE then OPEN LV.
6. After choosing two Pokémon, the NPC will ask you if it's okay to save your game. Say yes. After this, there will be a delay of several seconds. Do NOT turn off the game during this pause, or you may corrupt your save data!
7. After the pause, the save menu prompt will appear. Do NOT save your game here, or the glitch will not work; instead, say no and turn the game off.
If you performed these steps correctly, you will be standing in front of the counter when you load your game, and the Pokémon and/or items you withdrew in step 4 will both be in your party/bag and stored in your PC. This happens because a partial save was created during the pause at step 6; the game makes a record of your current party and items held, but fails to update the record of what Pokémon have been stored in the PC. Thus when you reload the game, the Pokémon and/or items you removed in step 4 will be in both places at the same time. There is no risk to using this glitch as long as you perform it correctly.
