With a very well trained team. Red's Pokemon are all above level 80, with Pikachu being his higher one at level 88. His team is:
Pikachu, Blastoise, Venusaur, Charizard, Lapras and Snorlax.
You can probably beat him with type advantage. For example bring out a Ground Pokemon with rock moves for Pikachu and Charizard. Have an Electric type for Lapras and Blastoise, a Fire type for Venusaur and a Fighting type for his Snorlax, all above level 80. And be careful of hail, Red uses Blizzard often because Hail makes Blizzard's accuracy 100%.
This is a very good team to defeat him.

if you have diamond get a mate to trade your dialga to heart gold or soul silver depending on your version and dialga must be lv 100 because that is the level of my dialga so then you should beat red quite easily because of its move set, you should have roar of time, dragon claw, flash Cannon and anything else these moves are effective i haven't beat him yet though
