What you really need is a pokemon with strong ice attacks. Ice Fang is a good move the red gyarados can learn.
If you have a gyarados you should let it be the powerhouse of your team because of its high attack stats.
Just try training all of your pokemon to a higher level than Lance's pokemon.
The drawback of using Gyarados is that Lance's Dragonite have Thunder. Try getting pokemon that can use moves that lower accuracy or raise their evasion level because Thunder has a low accuracy. Other than that as you can see all his pokemon have flying qualities so perhaps a pokemon with rock or electric attacks can help.

∙ 13y agoThe simplest way to beat Lance, the champion, is to use ice, since ice is super-effective against dragon-type Pokemon. However, Lance has three non-dragon type Pokemon on the first time around: Aerodactyl, Charizard, and Gyarados.
Aerodactyl and Charizard can easily be defeated by a strong water Pokemon (such as Feraligatr). However, if you do not have an electric type Pokemon, you must have a Pokemon with a high attack stat to push past Gyarados.

∙ 12y agoTo deafeat the champion of pokémon black and white is to train all of your pokémon until it is above level 60. Also, to do that, go to Nimbasa city and challenge the person in front of the ferris wheel (this person changes very season) You can challenge him/her every day. Also, go to the big stadium and small stadium (every day!) and challenge the atleathes! When you have done that, fly to Opelucid city (If you haave a pokémon that knows Fly) and find the Rotation battle House. there will be trainers upstairs and downstairs. When you have challenged the pokémon champion, use the super effective moves against that pokémon (the pokémon champion has six pokémon) I hope this helps you with your jorney!

∙ 11y agoIce types are double effective against his dragonites and I would say use electric moves for his other pokemon as they are flying types. Save before you face him and bring full restores and revives etc so you have the best possible chance of winning.
