1) A good way is to save right before battling it. Have a Quick Ball, and use it as soon as you enter the battle. If it doesn't capture it, reload by pressing L1 + R1 + Start + Select all together. Just repeat, throwing the Quick Ball at the beginning of the battle each time. It took me three tries with this strategy.
2) Another way is to just inflict a status problem (sleep, paralyz, frozen), but not Poisoned or Burnt, as those slowly decrease the afflicted Pokemon's health, possibly making it faint. Just keep throwing Pokeballs.
3) Wait until nighttime and use a Dusk Ball(?) I haven't tried this yet, but I think it would work pretty well.
