You need to get a magmarizer and then trade your magmar. Magmarizers are a hold item of wild magbys after inserting your LeafGreen gamepak. The wild magbys can be found in Stark Mountain or on route 227. There is a 50% hold rate of magmarizers in pearl but only a 5% hold rate for diamond. Note: You don't actually have to trade it away. What works is to: 1. Put your magmar with the magmarizer into the GTS 2. Do a trade with somebody else on the GTS 3. Withdraw your magmar. It should evolve into Magmortar.
