How do you catch a salmance in HeartGold?
As far as I know, the only way to get Salamence is to catch a Shelgon and evolve it when it is level 50. To get a Shelgon you have to have beaten the Elite 4 and gotten a 3rd call from Baoba, the Safari Zone Warden. He will have Blocks for you to play with and you need to place 21 Peak Objects and wait 70 days until you will find a Shelgon. From then on you just need to level it up by 4 levels.
