How do you get gengar in Pokemon black?

In the Diamond version of the Pokemon games for Nintendo Gameboy, wild Gengar can be found in the Old Chateau in Eterna Forest in the Sinnoh region. The Gengar in this region are usually level 16 or lower in the Diamond and Pearl versions of the game.

you must have firered,leafgreen,emerald or sapphire in gba slot and you need the national dex if you actually want gengar or this will be a waste of ur time

first get Gastly at the Old Chute in Enersha forest and evolve it in to Haunter then trade it to a friend and it will evolve into Gengar then tell your friend to trade it back (Haunter evolves by trade)

In Pokémon LeafGreen in order to receive Gengar in the game you will need to catch Gastly in the Lost Cave or in the Pokémon Tower and then you would have to raise it until it evolves into Haunter at Level 25 and then you would have to trade Haunter over to another player in order to evolve it into Gengar, another option is to catch Haunter in the Lost Cave or in the Pokémon Tower and then trade it to another trainer in order to evolve it into Gengar.

I am pretty sure the only way to get a Gengar in Leaf Green is to catch a Gastly from the Pokemon Tower in Lavender Town and then get it to evolve into Haunter, and then Gengar.
