Three ways.
- Wireless Event (this means if you go to a place like a shop you can connect wirelessly to get a pokemon. However, this is rare.)
- Wonder Card Trade (this means that if a friend did a wi-fi event and has a card from the event, sometimes you can trade the card to your DS)
- Trade with a friend.
To get the first two, go to the Mystery Gift setting on the menu and select From Wireless for 1. and From a Friend for 2.
