How do you get to the scientist who took the Sapphire to the warehouse in Pokemon leaf green version?

In the warehouse, you must go through all those sliding thingies (the arrows) and you'll eventually find two Team Rocket members (one is in one part of the room, the other is on the other side of the wall), and you must beat them in order to find the scientist. You must then battle the scientist (I'm actually not sure about that, I haven't played in soo long), and he'll hand over the sapphire.
