How do you get treecko in Pokemon gold?

First when you get to HEARTHOME you go straight to the end and talk to the hiker by the sign, he will give you an egg that contains HAPPINY. To get another egg you have to go to CANALAVE city and go to IRON ISLAND and talk to RILEY after battling two galactic members he will give you an egg that contains RIOLU an that will evolve into LUCARIO. I dont know what HAPPINY evolves into, sorry.
There is three ways.

• Go to Hearthome and talk to the traveling man right next to route 209. He will give you an egg.
• Go to Iron Island and into the cave. In one of the subrooms you will meet Riley. Go through the cave and up to the Grunts. Battle them and once you are finished he will say farewell, And he will give you an egg.
• Go to Solaceon town and put two Pokemon with the same types and different genders. Walk about 600 steps and check your daycare checker. There should be an egg there! Make sure you have an empty slot and talk to the guy outside the daycare and he will give you the egg!

In order to get Treecko in Pokemon HeartGold, the following requirements must be completed:

- Earn all 16 badges

- Defeat Red at Mt. Silver

Make sure you leave an empty spot in your Pokemon Party to obtain one of the Hoenn starters before starting!

After you have completed the two requirements, you can get a Treecko. Go to a small blue house located in Saffron City, and go upstairs. There will be a girl who is known as the Copycat Girl. Talk to her, and she will ask you to find her missing Clefairy doll. Go to Vermillion City, and enter the PokeFan Club and talk to a man who is sitting next to a table with a Clefairy doll on it. He will give you the doll, and you have to return to Saffron City and return it to the Copycat Girl. She will then give you the Magnet Train Pass. But when you come out of the house, you will encounter a man with gray hair in a suit named Steven, who will introduce himself as the Pokemon Champion of Hoenn and will tell you about Latias, the legendary Pokemon (Latios if you have Pokemon SoulSilver, which you don't in this case). Now go to the Silph Co. building (also located in Saffron City). It is a large blue building in the center. When you enter, walk right until you see Steven. He will ask you to choose a stone. There are 3 choices: Green Stone, Red Stone, and a Blue Stone. Each colored stone represents one of the Hoenn starters.

Green Stone: Treecko

Red Stone: Torchic

Blue Stone: Mudkip

However, you may only choose one of the three Pokemon, so choose wisely! If this helps you in anyway, I'll just tell you that I chose Mudkip because it's final evolved form is Swampert, a Water/Ground type. There aren't many grass types in the game so this is an advantage, AND Swampert is able to learn Ice moves, too, which may come in handy for the Elite Four (if there's one for the Hoenn Region, but that's another story).
